Description: Changes are described in the SFHA_CHANGES field. Increase areas are new to the 100 year floodplain. Decrease areas have been removed from the 100 year floodplain. No Change areas are the same as the current effective flood hazard zones. Other changes are formatted as EFFECTIVE ZONETO PRELIMINARY ZONEbut the floodplain (SFHA) designation remains unchanged. Please note that there is an unknown issue, tolerance perhaps, between the effective S_FLD_HZD_AR and the preliminary S_FLD_HZD_AR that results in miniscule changes between zones AE and VE in the coastal areas. These are likely not true changes as this preliminary update was focused on riverine areas not coastal areas.The Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) Database depicts flood risk information and supporting data used to develop the risk data. The primary risk classifications used are the 1-percent-annual-chance flood event, the 0.2-percent-annual-chance flood event, and areas of minimal flood risk. The FIRM Database is derived from Flood Insurance Studies (FISs), previously published FIRMs, flood hazard analyses performed in support of the FISs and FIRMs, and new mapping data, where available. The FISs and FIRMs are published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This file is georeferenced to the Earth's surface using the Geographic Coordinate System (GCS) and North American Datum of 1983.
