Due to the nature of the ARC/INFO coverage model, the coverage arcs are, by definition, the polygon boundaries. Hence, Boundary lines are derived from the polygons from the PARCELP, SUBDIV and RWMAINT layers. Left unprocessed, the Boundary lines would have formed redundant linework where concident features were defined on multiple source coverage layers. The geodatabase loading process included topological processing to detect and resolve linework intended to be coincident. The process worked for linework within approximately 0.4 feet on the ground. Linework more than 0.4 feet apart was preserved as separate Boundary lines, some of which were edited manually by County editors. All of the features in the source coverages were accounted for in the geodatabase migration. Feature counts in the geodatabase are less than the sum of source coverages for the following reasons. 1) Coincident linework from tile edges has been removed or dissolved as appropriate for cross-tile land divisions. 2) Coincident linework from multiple source layers (PARCELP and SUBDIV, for example) were planarized into single features when the lines were within 0.4 feet on the ground. 3) Some features shorter than the cluster tolerance were removed.
